Student Housing System at Qassim University

The necessity to manage residential housing facilities and cater to the needs of students grows as the number of students attending universities rises. Making the automated housing system available to students will lessen some of the challenges faced by potential applicants, including access to available rooms in student housing and the prices connected with them. Therefore, it was deemed appropriate to create a reliable system that might simplify the reser- vation process for students and services linked to room upkeep. In order to enable students and site visitors to study the specifics of the housing system, view rooms, and learn more about them, this project created a web-based student housing system. Online room reservations and maintenance requests are both available to students and administrators in order to meet the needs of student housing at Qassim University.

Coffee Leaf Diseases Classification using Deep Learning Models

Coffee is a significant commercial crop that is grown throughout the world, and it is second only to crude oil in terms of trade volume. For many farmers, it serves as their primary source of daily income. Thus, the primary issues influencing agricultural and economic output in many nations are controlling coffee leaf diseases and ensuring the quality of coffee bean products. One of the most well-known diseases affecting coffee leaves is Rust, followed by Phoma, Cercospora, and Miner. For disease detection and identification, farmers and professionals often use their unaided eyes to observe the plants. However, this strategy could be time-consuming, expensive, and unreliable. Due to the rising interest in using deep learning in farming, numerous studies have demonstrated that image classification is very reliable in recognizing plant diseases. Over the past few years, researchers have attempted to produce deep-learning solutions for cultiva- tion in terms of disease and species classification using convolutional neural networks (CNN). Therefore, we suggested a framework called the Coffee Leaf Quadruple Classifier (CLQC) that is divided into three unique stages each stage contains four models. They are VGG16, Efficient- NetB0, DenseNet121, and RestNet152V2 selected due to their accurate classification in coffee leaf diseases. The evaluated results indicate that by using deep convolutional models on a set of data, pre-processing, and a variety of supervised deep learning strategies across three distinct phases, the EfficientNetB0 model outperformed other models in all three stages. It achieved 99.91% accuracy in the first stage, 99.45% accuracy in the second stage, and 99.95% accuracy in the third stage.

An Emergency System for Traffic Signals

The aim of this project is to create a system that controls traffic signals and switch them on when an emergency vehicle (fire truck, ambulance, or police car) request that from the sys- tem. To clarify, the driver of the emergency vehicle should assign the destination that he/she should reach, and then, the request will be activated, so all the traffic signals on the way will be turned to green light until he/she reaches the final destination. Consequently, we will reduce the waiting time of the emergency, and prevent any accident could be happened if other cars cross the red signals to let the emergency vehicle go while the signal is red! Why not make it, A SMART CITY?

Secure Coding with Python

Saudi Arabia has taken precedence in technological development as one of the cornerstones of the Vision 2030 strategy. The growing threat of cybersecurity has prompted the kingdom to pay more attention to its national cybersecurity strategy as the state embarks on a Vision 2030 plan, which aims to diversify the economy and create new jobs. Empowering Security in Cloud Environment Using Encryption Technique

In Saudi Vision 2030 policy, the Saudi government has placed a high value on technical advancement. Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 plan, which intends to diversify the economy and generate new employment, has necessitated an increased focus on the country’s national cy- bersecurity policy. As a result, there is always a risk of data security breaches. The effective examination of cloud environment vulnerabilities was presented in many phases. Security mea- sures for such files are lacking in both efficiency and ease of use. A hacker may readily take advantage of this. The most widely utilized technique for data protection is cryptography. Technology that is ”practically resilient and impossible to assault” becomes critical. With the use of cryptographic algorithms, this study shows how to improve the security of data stored and shared over the network. Additionally, the confidentiality, integrity, and availability (CIA) measures will be ensured in the cloud environment; the most challenging issue is how to safe- guard data given that this information might be kept anywhere in the cloud. So, this method explains the cryptography techniques used by Cloud Service Providers (CSP). The idea of this work to safeguard information using hybrid encryption while still being efficient using high level language. This project is supposed to aid governments, businesses, and programmers in keeping their data secure in order that it can be utilized in delicate situations.

Virtual Reality for IT Museum

Virtual reality (VR) is a computer simulation that produces a virtual environment with auditory, visual, and other types of sensory feedback by combining sights and sounds. VR mu- seum presents an excellent environment to discover and experience things in ways they would not be able to do in real life. This project creates a virtual reality for an IT museum at Al Qassim University in order to facilitate visits and provide the greatest possible knowledge of technical tools. The system was created using a number of programs and technologies. For instance, a number of languages were employed to create the website that will take us to the museum, while Unity was utilized to build the actual museum. The system was then put to the test using Oculus Quest 2 headset, visitors were able to virtually explore the museum and see the IT equipment and images in a way that nearly resembled reality. Lastly, the IT Museum is an ongoing project, and we look forward to adding more interactive elements like 360-degree photos from the IT department, voice descriptions for the tools inside the museum, and much more.

kidney Stone Detection From Ultrasound Imaging

Kidney Stone Disease(KSD) [40, 6] is one of the major life-threatening illnesses. A small stone may pass without causing symptoms. If a stone grows to more than 5 millimeters (0.2 in), it can cause blockage of the ureter, resulting in severe pain in the lower back or abdomen [28]. These stones in the early stage are remained unnoticed particularly by the human eyes. Thus, late diagnosis leed to cause damages to the kidney as they grow. To address this issue, a method is required to identify the location of the stone. Thus, the early detection of kidney stone is an essential manner in the medical treatment procedure. Ultrasound imaging is one of the available imaging techniques used for the diagnosis in medical fields. Furthermore, it is a widely imaging techniques that has used for analyzing kidney diseases [24]. On the other hand, the using of the ultrasound imaging is a highly challenging task. The major problem with this type of images that it has low contrast and contain noise (i.e. speckle noise) which makes it difficult to see the stone through it [1, 8].

These techniques provide timely and efficient healthcare services by tracking the vital signs and physiological changes. In this project, we propose a system to monitor the wellness of elderly patients. This system can easily monitor and analyze an elderly’s overall activity and vital signs in addition to a special sensor to detect the elderly falling down using a wearable smart bracelet. After that, the data from the sensors will be processed and transmitted to a cloud server that is connected to an application uploaded to the phones of family members, medical assistant or anyone who is concern of the elderly’s life.

Real time vehicles density-based auto traffic light control system

Despite the fact that the number of cars on the road is increasing day by day, traffic con- gestion is becoming a serious issue as more vehicles are on the road. A large number of vehicles are waiting to be processed at an intersection due to the increase in traffic flow, and presently the traditional traffic lights are not able to deal with the increasing traffic flow efficiently. As stated above, the theme is to control the traffic by determining the density of traffic on the road and controlling the traffic signals intelligently by using this density information. In order to determine the characteristics of competing traffic flows at signalized road intersections we rely on computer vision and machine learning. In order to achieve this, the traffic control sys- tem uses state-of-the-art, real-time object detection, based on Convolutional Neural Networks called You Only Look Once (YOLO). Finally, traffic signal phases are optimized according to collected data, mainly the queue length and waiting time per vehicle, to enable as many vehicles as possible to pass safely with as little waiting time as possible.

Plate number recognition using AI techniques

The number of vehicles on the road has recently increased, making traffic control and road safety have become increasingly difficult. This project aimed to overcome this dilemma and stay up with changes so that we could transform our city into a smart city by developing an identification system using artificial intelligence techniques that detect license plates and ex- tract numbers and letters in both Arabic and English. This research has covered a variety of strategies as well as the issues that go along with them. This study will apply Neural Networks (NN) based on full analysis that has been made through the literature review, the strategies and its techniques including the segmentation and the outcomes at the end. The expected outcome will be a system that could detect Arabic license plates and integrate with IoT devices in order to collaborate on having a smart city.
