Hotel Recommendation System

Many hotel recommendation systems are very useful due to the fact that many travelers and tourists need them. They can act as filters for information by providing suggestions for users to choose a satisfactory hotel from among many options. However, there are some chal- lenges in most of the hotel recommendation studies which may not be effective enough to make good predictions. Travelers and tourists are usually interested in hotels’ features, numerical values, and proximity to important areas. Therefore, this research aims to suggest the use of the k-means machine-learning algorithm to recommend hotels in several cases. First, we use hotel data combined with the history of a user to improve and make it more accurate, then we combine them to make a recommendation. Secondly, we provide a recommendation through hotels rating and cities. We used hotel data in Saudi Arabia, especially since the number of people coming to it is increasing due to the fact that it has become a tourist area.

An Expert Mobile Application for Diagnosing Palm Trees Diseases

Palm trees, like other plants, are subject to a variety of diseases during their life. It is causing material and economic losses. So, it would be good to control these common diseases and search for ways that contribute to the correct diagnosis. In this project, we will develop and design an expert system based on mobile application to diagnose diseases of palm trees. This app will serve farmers interested in caring for palm trees in the Arab region, especially Saudi Arabia, by providing appropriate languages to make palm tree diseases easy to diagnose and take advice on. By implementing the certainty factor method. The certainty factor is used as a means of the expert system of action by representing a number that measures the expert’s belief during the diagnosis and symptoms of the disease. Convenient user interfaces, support IOS, Android. This study has shown the ability of the certainty factor method to facilitate farmers’ identification of diseases and pests based on symptoms. We will compile more data on diseases to validate these results in future work.

A decision support system is a flexible and interactive approach intended to provide statistical data to support administrators in their decision-making activities. The purpose of this project is to design and build a system that meets the needs of the entire univer- sity community, including students and faculty members and the integration of the intelligent data analysis system to provide the necessary information to support decision- making in the college’s statistical unit. In this project we designed a dashboard to facilitate the process of data analysis for students in the college of computer as well as the data analysis for the faculty members based on specific KPIs to help the members of the Statistical Unit to make the best decision.

A BLOCKCHAIN NETWORK FOR PUBLIC HEALTH INTEROPERABILITY AND REAL-TIME DATA SHARING

In terms of storage and consumption, blockchain technology is on the verge of transforming the way we manage healthcare data. The major purpose is to enable patients to be the center of their own health record, so they don’t have to rely on other organizations or hospitals they may visit. Blockchain technology and smart contracts provide an intriguing and unique method of keeping track of Electronic Health Records (EHRs). This technology might give patients more control over their data. Access to patient data controlled by other organizations might be granted to health practitioners and institutions such as hospitals. We highlight how blockchain technology may be utilized to handle EHR while boosting operational efficiency through pro- cess simplification and transparency. We propose an architecture for managing and sharing healthcare data across enterprises. The suggested study might greatly cut the time required to transfer patient data among various health groups while also lowering overall costs.

Indoor Air Quality Monitoring in Restaurants using IoT

Air pollution has become one of the largest issues that cause harmful human and environ- mental health due to harmful chemicals and other toxic materials which result from external interactions such as factory and vehicle smoke, or from internal interactions such as cooking smoke or detergents. Indoor air quality monitoring is important for the health and comfort of people who spend most of their time indoors. Most people are unaware that indoor air quality could be poor, until studies have shown that indoor pollutant levels can be two to five times greater than outdoor levels. There are some existing systems that monitor indoor air quality that only detect one parameter for monitoring of air pollution, some of them have a high cost, it doesn’t provide a monitoring process in real-time, and not easy to use because it is intended for professionals. In recent years, mobile technology, specially the internet of things has had a positive impact on how we manage our health. The Internet of things (IoT) is a technique that connects devices with the internet. In this project, an Indoor Air Quality Monitoring System (IAQM) is proposed based on IoT technology. The concept of the proposed system is to deploy sensors that measure air quality parameters which are connected to ESP32 microcontroller in a restaurant environment. According to our knowledge, this system is the first system in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia that may help competent authorities to monitor the indoor air quality in restaurant environments remotely. The cloud was used to process and store the collected data, and display it as a numerical and graphical representation on mobile applications. The proposed system is built in four phases. In the first phase, the requirements of the IAQM system were analyzed by visiting the restaurants and knowing the needs of competent authorities. In the second phase, the monitoring device and user interface are designed. In the third phase, the system was implemented in a restaurant’s environment in real-time and tested under certain conditions. In the final phase, the system was verified based on the required requirements and tested through a number of standards that were relied on in testing cases inside the restau- rant’s kitchen. Through this system, competent authorities can easily monitor the air quality in restaurants by using the application.

Our project aims to provide a solution for blind individuals when they leave the house while they are in poor health and inability to discover their surroundings and the need to constantly know their health condition and what is going on around them, in addition to knowing their geographical locations in a way that achieves reassurance and makes the patient in a state of permanent control over his health and movement and direct intervention When needed and locating the objects through smart glasses that provide the previous services and achieve the actual application of the concept of the Internet of things in the field of health.

Intelligent crowd monitoring system using computer vision algorithm

Management and control of crowds is crucial to maintaining public safety and is considered to be an increasingly relevant research topic in the social sciences. This project presents a system for estimating the size of heterogeneous crowds made up of pedestrians walking in different directions without using segmentation or explicit object tracking. Malath: A mobile application to help pet owners in Saudi Arabia

In recent times, the phenomenon of raising pets has spread among members of society, es- pecially among teenagers and children. They compete to acquire different types of animals: cats, dogs, birds, rabbits, fish, turtles, and other pets. Usually, families who have pets face a problem when they want to travel (be it a tourist trip or a business trip), as they search among relatives and friends for the right person to care for their pets during their absence. Also, they may have to put it with an inappropriate person (who is not animal-loving by nature, but has consented to the courtesy of caring for them), because he is the only person who has agreed to look after their animals. Moreover, most pet owners do not know how to reach appropriate vets when their pets are sick and how they can find their pets when they lose them. From this perspective came the idea of a project that includes the creation of a mobile application that will be called Malath, which will contribute effectively to solving these problems. By creating this application, we seek to build a community for pet service providers and pet owners, and to make it easier for service providers to provide their services to the owners easily. Furthermore, it helps the pet owners to find the required services in one application.

Attendance system based on GPS

Nowadays, with the increased number of organizations and the increased number of employ- ees, controlling the entry/exit reporting of the workplace employees has become a challenging process, especially a COVID-19 pandemic-like case. In the practice of regular attendance re- porting, employees are required to report their time of attendance using several methods such as signing a paper, scanning a bar code over a card reader, taking fingerprints, or entering a specific passcode for identity verification. However, with the increasing advances in technology and the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic, the use of such methods has become restricted and new methods need to be addressed and improved. The proposed approach in this project presents an alternative technology-based solution that satisfies safety and security. We believe that the proposed solution will help and save time for users. The proposed solution is based on a mobile application used by the employee to report hassle-free attendance from one side, and provide an automated process of monitoring employee attendance for the organization on the other side. Employees will be able to report their attendance using the mobile application only if they are within the organization’s geographical boundaries with the help of GPS services. It is expected that this technology-based method will provide several advantages: first, this approach will satisfy the social distancing requirements, especially in large-scale organizations; second, an accurate and hassle-free reporting of attendance; last but not least, attendance re- porting required the employees to be within the geographical boundaries of the organization using the GPS services.

Vision-Based Drowsiness Detection System Using Convolutional Neural Networks

Various studies indicate that one of the main reasons of road accidents are related to fatigue and driver drowsiness. It is a global problem which not only effect human lives, in the form of death and disability, but also has great impact on economy. The driver drowsiness detection system is a tool to monitor driver consciousness. The system aims to develop an algorithm to detect drowsiness by going in three phases: In the first phase we conducted data training through CNN algorithm .In the second phase driver’s face is identified through MTCNN al- gorithm. In phase third Identifying facial features through 68 face landmark. The final stage decided whether the driver is drowsy or not. When a driver detected to be fall a sleep, there will be a warning sound to alert the driver to save his and other people lives. Experimental results show that our system has an accuracy of about 99.4%.

What if there were a chatbot that can encourage people to have a healthy lifestyle? The main goal of our project is to promote for a healthy lifestyle based on the food choices and the daily needs of it for each individual. In the recent years, people tends to become more aware about the importance of their body health, targeting nutrition and changing their dietary behavior. which it brought us to our Nutrition Chatbot, it provide a healthy suggestions of meals for the user based on their daily needs along with other different other services. The project will be developed by using machine learning algorithms, NLP, cloud-base storing and Telegram channel as a platform. We have been focusing on artificial intelligence Chatbots as an innovative approach that delivers more simplicity and facilitates long-term commitment. Nutrition chatbot offers the feature of being distributed easily in smartphones and laptops within a set of applications. Special emphasis will be placed on harnessing the power of the intelligent chatbot systems in order to produced a behavior change interventions via nutrition bot to promote a healthy lifestyle.
